2. Different requirements for exposed lighting fixtures

For the issue of exposed lighting fixtures, the stage requirements are relatively strict, especially for realistic dramas performed on a framed stage, such as "Teahouse", "Thunderstorm", etc. The lighting fixtures should be hidden as much as possible to avoid disturbing the viewer's visual experience due to the exposed lighting fixtures. For studio lighting, many studio lighting fixtures are directly exposed to the outside, as cameras only shoot a certain area in the studio, as long as the lighting fixtures do not appear in the TV screen.

3. The application of "hard light" and "soft light"

The use of "hard light" and "soft light" is a significant difference between studio lighting design and stage lighting design. Hard light refers to light with strong direct illumination, significant differences in brightness of the subject, bright highlights, and clear shadow edges, such as LED spotlights; Soft light generally refers to light with strong scattering, small difference in brightness between the illuminated object, soft highlights, and soft shadows, such as LED film and television flat panel lights.

On the stage of drama, spotlights are usually used as overhead lighting. However, if LED spotlights are used as overhead lighting in the studio, it can lead to stiff shadows of characters, which is not suitable for the visual requirements of news or interview programs. For small and medium-sized studios, the lighting usually requires a soft character design, without the appearance of rigid shadows and black areas. Therefore, soft lighting is generally used, and the degree of diffuse reflection of the lighting fixtures is relatively high. In studio lighting, LED film and television flat panel lights are usually used to provide surface and side lighting for characters, while LED spotlights are used as backlighting fixtures for character styling.
